CyberRx to Host First of Its Kind Cyber Forum for Small and Medium-Sized Business Executives

CyberRx is hosting a cybersecurity conference for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) on October 4 in Silver Spring, Maryland. The American Small Business Cybersecurity Xchange Conference is designed to help SMB chief executive officers (CEOs) and senior executives better understand cybersecurity risks, and to emphasize their roles and responsibilities in protecting their company’s brand, reputation and legal liability.

“This one-day interactive event will highlight why cybersecurity needs to be a Top 5 critical business concern,” said CyberRx Co-Founder and CEO Ola Sage. “We are especially pleased to have Kevin Mitnick, the world’s most famous hacker, as our keynote speaker. Kevin will demonstrate to CEOs and their executive teams, in real time, how companies’ data is being stolen and what they can do to protect themselves.” The conference will also feature industry experts on cybersecurity best practices and technical solutions that are available to SMBs.

Montgomery County Executive Isiah “Ike” Leggett will provide opening remarks. There will also be discussions about new regulatory, legislative, and supply chain requirements; the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework; and how the insurance, legal, public relations, and managed security services industries aid SMBs, both before and after a cyber-attack.

The Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) is the platinum sponsor for the event. Other distinguished sponsors representing a broad cross section of industries include 1 Source Consulting, Inc.; Adventist Health Care; Bergmann’s Cleaning; the Cybersecurity Association of Maryland; DMI; EagleBank; e-Management; Ezra Technology, Inc.; Federal National Commercial Credit; Foley & Lardner, LLP; GovTech Insurance Company; Lore Systems, Inc.; MCGlobalTech, Inc.; MedImmune, Meridian Imaging Solutions; Monument Bank; and Tech 2000, Inc.

The conference will be held 7:30 am to 5 pm at the Civic Center at Veterans Plaza in downtown Silver Spring.
